(30). DEMON POSSESSION – Does It Happen ?

Image
DEMON POSSESSION – Does It Happen ? I was asked by a pastor as to how one can tell if a person is demon possessed as opposed to having a physical, mental, emotional or psychiatric problem? First, let me say that it would be highly unusual for a pastor or missionary...etc. not to come in contact with a demon possessed person throughout their routine in ministry. It has been my experience on numerous occasions to experience contact with demon possessed people. Demons are fallen angels who serve in subjection to Satan. Demon-possessed people are under the control of one or more demons. There are four classic symptoms and/or consistencies of demon possessed people. Note Mark 5  1. Violent - vs.3,5 - A demon possessed person displays a pattern of violence. On themselves, others, and even property. Their presence conveys a real threat.  2. Vile - vs. 5,8  - A demon possessed person will display a vile chall...

(29). THE JUDGMENT SEAT OF CHRIST

Image
THE JUDGMENT SEAT OF CHRIST The Judgment Seat of Christ will be a place and time of revealing.  As we live an d work here in this life, it is relatively easy for us to hide things and pretend; but the true character of our works and motives will be exposed before the searching eyes of the Savior.          Jesus Christ makes Himself the test to determine our genuineness. The life of Christ is the only standard acceptable with God the Father. The only critical discipline of the Christian life is to yield to the Holy Spirit to bring us to absolute conformity to the likeness of Jesus Christ. Why? There is nothing else that can endure the judgment of God. The Judgment Seat of Christ... When and where will it happen? Who will the participants be? What is the purpose of this very intimate moment when believers will look into the eyes of Jesus Christ in judgment?  Christians Will Be Judged.  When, Where and ...

(28). DOCTRINE OF IMPUTATION – Jesus Paid It All

Image
DOCTRINE OF IMPUTATION – Jesus Paid It All The Doctrine Of Imputation... why its so significant for Christians? Imputation is defined as:  To reckon to someone the blessing, curse, debt, etc. of another. Biblically speaking, Adam's sin is imputed to all people (Rom. 5:12-21), therefore, we are all guilty before God.  What did God do to remedy this serious matter? Our sins were put upon (imputed) Jesus on the cross where He became sin on our behalf (2 Cor. 5:21) and died with them (Isaiah 53:4-6). Thus, Jesus Christ paid for all our sins in full with His atoning death at the cross. Understanding imputation is essential to spiritual growth. Imputation is the means of our salvation that provides the blessed work of  sanctification . Our sins were put upon, (imputed) to Jesus on the cross.  Our sins were "given" to Jesus. When He died on the cross, our sins, in a sense, died with Him. The righteousness that was His throu...

(27). CONCEPTION OF THE CHURCH

Image
CONCEPTION OF THE CHURCH When and where did the Church actually begin?  The Day of Pentecost marked the beginning of the Church seems evident for the following reasons: The Lord spoke of the church as being future:  ...and upon this rock I will build my church... Matthew 16:18b.  This apparently means that the church did not exist in Old Testament times.  The Gospel of Jesus Christ is essential to the functioning of the church.  It is built on the Gospel for a very important reason:  by the Gospel (or because of the Gospel), Jesus Christ ascended back to the Father which was necessary for the sending of the Holy Ghost:  Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.  John 16:7. This had to happen in order to baptize believers into the body of Christ which allows the exercise...

(26). THE RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH

Image
THE RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH What will be the next great event on God's Calendar?  The short answer to this question is The Rapture of The Church. This is a moment in time when the Church (The Body of Christ) will instantly be transported   from  the  earth  to  heaven before  The Great Tribulation. The rapture will include all living Christians regardless of their spiritual temperament.  The test on whether a believer will be raptured is not in the believers present behavior... it is solely in the finished work of the Savior at the cross.   It is not one's spiritual condition... but their spiritual position in Christ that assures their inclusion in the rapture of the Church.     When will this Happen?  Possibly Today!  It is imminent.  Who will the participants be?  a. Jesus Christ - 1 Thess. 4:16a b. The Archangel - 1 Thess. 4:16b c....

(25). GOD'S WILL - How To Know ?

Image
GOD'S WILL - How To Know ? How can a believer discover God's purpose  and be sure they are in the will of God and not just influenced by good intentions?  A Christian who mistakes God's purpose and will for something else will remain intimidated by the influence of fear. The will of God is ultimately realized under the direct influence of the indwelling  Holy Spirit  that breeds discernment which reveals the will of God versus one's good intentions.  How can a Christian be sure they are in the will of God?   Be sure you are already in the habit of obeying God (James 1:22 ). This is key.  Obeying God consistently will protect you from self-deception and build your sense of discernment about others and the environment around you. - Determine that you will glorify God spiritually and physically. The Holy Spirit will use that ambition to weed out or diminish the strength of one's o...

(24). BAPTISM AND SALVATION - The Facts

Image
BAPTISM AND SALVATION - The Facts Acts 2:38 is one of the most miss-understood verses in the Bible. With a proper view of rightly dividing God's Word, it is plain to see that it does not teach baptismal regeneration. Rarely is doctrine ever formed from a single verse. We need to look at all of what God's words says about a given subject in order to accurately and rightly divide the Word of truth. Acts 2:38 is not stating that you must be baptized in order to be saved. It is declaring that baptism is the outward representation of one's identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. It is not the act of baptism that saves us, but what Christ did that saves us. It is the reality of His death which we receive by faith (Rom. 5:1). This is consistent with the acts of the apostles and the facts (doctrine) given by the apostles. Acts 2:38 and Baptismal Regeneration? It was the apostle Peter who is quoted in Acts 2:38, and yet in his first...

(23). FALSE TEACHERS - DETECTING THEM ?

Image
FALSE TEACHERS - DETECTING THEM ? Why should Christians have zero tolerance for false teachers?  It is not unusual for Churches to unknowingly entertain heretical teaching.  How do we detect heresy and false teachers and root it out? The word heresy means choosing one's own ideas, but also refers to that which is untrue. Even the early churches in the Bible had false or heretical teachers who taught erroneous doctrine.  Some epistles were specifically written to combat them (Galatians, 2 Thessalonians, Jude). Paul warned the believers in Rome against identifying with those who promoted divisive, heretical teachings (Romans 16:17).  He commanded Titus to reject and remove heretics if they did not respond after two warnings. The apostle John warned that a heretic should not be admitted into a Christian's home (2 John 10). Christians should separate and dissociate themselves from investing themselves in cooperation with heretics so...

(22). CAN SATAN PERFORM MIRACLES ?

Image
CAN SATAN PERFORM MIRACLES ?       It should always be acknowledged that Satan is a fraud and a master counterfeiter with his false bibles, false professions, false prophets, false doctrines, false teachers and false miracles.  To comprehend the truth about Satan and his ambition, God's Word must be the source for truth.  To assume that Satan can provide authentic miracles would be to subject our minds to believe error about the continuation of supernatural powers beyond the apostolic age. This is certain to leave one vulnerable to the wiles of Satan.  Satan by virtue of his false and ambitious prophets demand an attraction for miracles in place of the Word of God. The discerning believer understands that the real purpose of New Testament miracles was to demonstrate that Christ and his inspired apostles were speaking revelation by divine authority.  Satan vs. Jesus and Miracles Miracles at the hand of Jesus a...

(21). CHRISTIANS & ALCOHOL - What God Says ?

Image
CHRISTIANS & ALCOHOL - What God Says ? Is it okay for Christians to drink alcohol in moderation or at all?  The Bible provides an abundance of discouragement against the consumption of alcohol.  Prov. 23:29,30:  Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine . Why should Christians avoid alcohol?  It's Reputation is true to form - Prov. 23:29  a. It forms the appearance of evil - Prov. 20:1 b. It forms the appeal for evil - Prov. 23:31,33  It's Association is true to Deform  a. It Deforms Our Standing before men - Prov.20:1a b. It Deforms Our Understanding of God - Prov.20:1b  It's Damnation is true to Perform - Isaiah 5:8,15 Obviously, any sensible and discerning Christian will avoid all appearances of evil. This includes any association with a...

(20). ARE CHRISTIANS UNDER LAW & GRACE ?

Image
ARE CHRISTIANS UNDER LAW & GRACE ?   Are Christians under the law? And if so, which law?   The apostles taught that though we are saved by grace through faith without works (Rom. 3:20; 28; Eph. 2:7-10) we are also saved unto works (Eph 2:7,10).  Jesus Christ as Savior is at the heart of this matter... as He alone makes the case for grace. While it is true that Christian are not under the Mosaic law, we are not free from all law. Christians live according to a new law. The following four laws are inseparable and form the basis for Christians to be fruitful for the glory of God. It is the law of the Spirit (Romans 8:2), because the Holy Spirit leads and empowers us to obey God. Simply put... You can't obey God without God. It is the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2), because Christ is our example. Simply put... Without Christ we can do nothing that is pleasing to God. It is the law of liberty (Jame...

(19). DOCTRINE OF THE TRINITY

Image
DOCTRINE OF THE TRINITY When we rightly divide the word of truth, it becomes obvious that there is only one God, but in the unity of the Godhead there are three eternal and coequal Persons equal in attributes. God the Father,  God The Son , and  God The Holy Spirit . 1. The Godhead (the Trinity) is self existent .  This is to say that the Trinity exists because they exists.  They are not dependent upon anything or anyone for their thoughts (Romans 11:33,34), their will (Romans 9:19; Ephesians 1:5), their power (Psalm 115:3), or their counsel (Psalm 33:10,11). 2. The Trinity is self sufficient.  This attribute is closely connected to the attribute of self existence, but carries it a step further.  This means the Trinity has never had in eternity past, nor can ever have in the ages to come, a single need for which their own divine nature has not already provided (Psalm 50:10,12). 3. The ...

(18). DOCTRINE OF SANCTIFICATION

Image
DOCTRINE OF SANCTIFICATION Sanctification is a wonderful and necessary doctrine of God's Word. The work of sanctification by the indwelling Holy Spirit will foster a state of continued growth into the likeness of Jesus Christ. What does it mean to be sanctified?  What Sanctification IS NOT? First : Sanctification is not the eradication of one's sinful nature (1 John 1:8,10).  Second:  It is not the second blessing. The false teaching on this subject is often taken from2 Corinthians 1:15. However, Paul taught these believers in his first epistle that they were sanctified (1 Corinthians 1:2; 6:11). This is important. Many Christians are chasing after something they are already in possession of. Third.  It is not the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Note 1 Corinthians 12:13. Paul makes it clear that all believers have been baptized by the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 3:1,4).  So what is Sanctification?...
